Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional with expertise in construction estimation to excel in this challenging role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed capital cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing building plans, materials, and labor costs.
  • Develop pricing documents for tender packages and provide guidance on tendering procedures to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Draft contract packages, including amendments to standard forms, to meet client requirements.
  • Conduct site visits to assess construction progress, identify potential issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate tender submissions to determine the best value for clients, considering factors such as quality, price, and delivery time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost-saving strategies, improve project efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and submit regular cost reports to stakeholders, providing transparent and timely information on project expenditures.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 5-10 years' experience in construction estimation.
  • Strong understanding of QS & cost management processes, including the ability to interpret drawings for quantification.
  • Chartered QS under a recognized organization, such as RICS, SCSI, AIQS, NZIQS.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and strong IT literacy, including knowledge of cost estimation software and tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to coordinate with staff across global offices, fostering collaboration and teamwork to achieve common goals.
