Job Summary

The Legal Officer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the administrative aspects of client companies, fostering and developing relationships, and leading client teams to ensure clients' files are in good legal and financial standing.


Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Performs critical legal and management work for client companies, encompassing the preparation of corporate documents and thorough review of standard corporate and commercial agreements.
  • Participates actively in the incorporation and termination processes of companies and provides fee quotations for services.
  • Monitors productivity and chargeability, reviews performance against targets, and ensures individual financial and client targets are met.
  • Fully understands clients' activities and ensures actions taken are consistent with the company's activities and purpose within the legal and economic framework.
  • Manages companies, ensuring all information in client files is correct and up-to-date, and assures companies are capitalized and management agreements are available.
  • Works closely with managers to maintain the client database and ensures it is updated and accurate at all times.
  • Develops and updates legal manuals and procedures, contributes to the development and maintenance of systems, and prepares monthly reports for the Management Team.
  • Offers expert advice, knowledge, and experience to colleagues and performs other tasks related to the position.

Candidate Profile
  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree (Law / Economics) or Qualified Company Secretary.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in legal and corporate/company management services in a law firm, trust, or company management firm.
  • Strong commercial mindset, takes initiative, positive, proactive, dedicated, focused, revenue, and target driven.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, excellent client-facing skills, and well-developed spoken and written communication skills.
  • Excellent English language fluency, additional languages preferred, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, solution-driven, highly organized, detail-oriented, and good decision-making and time-management skills.
  • Independent, hands-on, and accountable for delivering solutions and results, ability to adapt and work in a smaller, dynamic local team environment, and part of a bigger matrix organization.
  • Proven leadership and team player skills, ambition to excel in the role.
