Purchasing Order Specialist

 

Job Overview

  • Process and manage purchase orders from various vendors.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Resolve order issues with clients and vendors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process purchase orders using electronic ordering methods, such as EDI/XML.
  2. Communicate with internal departments, including Sales, Accounting, and Warehouse teams.
  3. Develop vendor relationships to meet clients' performance, efficiency, and pricing requirements.
  4. Research past orders to resolve issues and reconcile open PO transactions.
  5. Expedite and follow up with vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of purchase orders.
  6. Obtain quotes and create parts and vendors.
  7. Reconcile vendor invoices and set up for payment.
  8. Coordinate with Legal and suppliers for supplier agreements.
  9. Follow up and escalate pending items with relevant departments.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Prior work experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to learn fast, absorb knowledge, and apply newly learned information.
  • Able to work effectively within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Able to think creatively and find solutions to issues.
