Senior Audit Associate Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Audit Associate to join our team of experienced professionals. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of audit engagements, developing and demonstrating their skills and expertise.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and demonstrate an understanding of the audit approach, methodology, and tools used by our firm.
  • Perform audit procedures and tests in accordance with our audit methodology, ensuring proper documentation of work performed.
  • Identify areas of risk and accounting and auditing issues; discuss with engagement teams to solve issues that arise.
  • Research technical accounting issues and develop industry expertise.
  • Prepare audit reports and management letters.
  • Exercise professional skepticism, judgment, and adhere to our code of ethics while on engagements.
  • Ensure that documentation is compliant with quality standards of our firm.
  • Work collaboratively as a part of the team and communicate effectively with RSM audit professionals.
  • Provide supervision and development training for associates.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables to ensure service excellence through prompt responses to internal and external clients.
  • Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, including coordinating the development and execution of the audit work plan and client deliverables.
  • Ensure professional development through ongoing education.
  • Participate in a range of projects and be open to collaborate and work with multiple teams; demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, initiative, and timely completion of work.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related field.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant/ACCA/CPA certification.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience working in an accounting and audit-related field.
  • Strong technical skills in accounting, including IFRS or GAAP and GAAS.
  • Strong multi-tasking and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication (English) skills, as the position requires frequent communications with RSM International clients and the United States-based engagement teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Financial Institutions (Lending) industry preferred.
  • Strong data analytical skills, including advanced Excel skills (Chartered Accountant/ACCA/CPA, and basic formulas), Word, and PowerPoint.
