As a seasoned SQL Database Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our databases. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing day-to-day operations including Failover Cluster setup, Always ON setup, new server provisioning, transaction replication, link servers, hardening, and patching.Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor generated log and event files indicating potential errors to prevent incidents
  • Ensure disaster recovery database availability through proactive monitoring
  • Track database log replication and report status as per agreed schedules
  • Session/query/log/latch monitoring to identify performance bottlenecks
  • Purging database logs and trace files to maintain optimal storage
  • Regularly review and maintain consistent configurations to ensure high availability
  • Develop recommendations to enhance database availability and drive corrective action
  • Generate monthly reports on database availability to stakeholders
Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Team management experience with a strong focus on collaboration
  • Expertise in handling major incidents and root cause analysis
  • Demonstrated skills in database installation and troubleshooting
  • Proven experience in Always ON Cluster configuration and management
  • Failover Cluster Management with a strong emphasis on high availability
  • Advanced knowledge of replication and link server configuration
  • Experience in database patching and hardening
  • Proficiency in job scheduling and maintenance planning
  • Preparedness for post-implementation audits and rollback plans on database migration
