We are seeking a skilled Database Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, protecting, and implementing our department's databases.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies for managing database locking, process blocking, and performance tuning.
  • Create and maintain high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architecture.
  • Optimize, test, and verify backup and restoration processes.
  • Design and develop monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards for database performance and operation insights.
  • Proactively manage infrastructure to prevent potential issues and mitigate future incidents.
  • Handle support tickets, providing expert guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Design, develop, and deploy new database objects and changes to existing ones, including tables, stored procedures, views, etc.
  • Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development.
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex relational database reports using SSRS.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Advanced understanding of relational database architecture and infrastructure, specifically MSSQL.
  • Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS, and support tooling.
  • Knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and day-to-day DB functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of optimizing MSSQL, supporting HA/DR, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design.
  • Experience with Always on High Availability Groups is beneficial.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
