Database Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced database professional to join our team in a key role responsible for designing and managing scalable database configurations, automating patch deployments and installations, and optimizing data storage and retrieval.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Manage Scalable Database Configurations: Ensure high efficiency by optimizing data storage, retrieval, indexing, query performance, and infrastructure.
  • Automate Patch Deployments and Installations: Use shell scripting or other programming languages to automate routine tasks.
  • Optimize Data Storage and Retrieval: Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to enhance database operations and interactions.
  • Ensure Data Integrity and Security: Maintain compliance with industry standards such as GDPR and SOX.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 2-12 years of experience with Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ architecture, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL, index defragmentation, re-indexing, query optimization, and client/server connectivity.
