Financial Operations Manager

Job Description:

Expert financial operations management is crucial for the success of our venture capital fund. We are seeking a seasoned Financial Operations Manager to oversee the firm's financial activities, ensuring compliance with US taxation and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Management:
  • Manage day-to-day financial statement activities, including maintaining general ledgers, journals, and financial reports.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Oversee cash flow management, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
  • Taxation Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with US taxation laws, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Monitor and stay updated on changes in US tax regulations affecting the fund's operations.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate tax filings and tax planning.
  • Payroll Management:
  • Oversee payroll processing for Indian employees, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage salary calculations, bonuses, and deductions (e.g., Provident Fund, ESI, TDS), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and handle related administrative tasks.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and audits, providing insights into the firm's financial health.
  • Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in financial operations, fund accounting, or a related role, with a strong understanding of US taxation for venture capital firms.
  • Experience in payroll management for Indian employees, with in-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and fund accounting practices.
  • Experience with accounting software and tools, preferably QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or other relevant certifications preferred.
