Construction Project Manager


About the Position:
  • We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee our construction projects.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate with contractors to resolve issues related to progress, access, interface, and completion dates.
  • You will work closely with planning and procurement managers to ensure that works are constructed in line with current plans.
  • A key aspect of this role is ensuring timely material requirements are passed on to purchasing.
  • You will be responsible for educating staff under your control on current methods, standards, and procedures required for the project.
  • This includes reviewing method statements and shop drawings before they are signed off by you or your team members.
  • You will also coordinate with vendors and contractors to maintain a clean work area and ensure safe access.
  • An essential part of this role is assisting with preparation of all planning aspects, including informing structural consultants of missing design drawings.
  • You will facilitate submission of required designs to allow sufficient time for preparation of work method statements and shop drawings.
  • You will produce regular progress reports highlighting monthly progress, delays, and concerns, as well as measures taken to minimize delays.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and engineering principles.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage construction projects effectively.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Able to identify and resolve technical issues on-site.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Relevant experience in construction or engineering environments.

Requirements:
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in a construction or engineering environment.
