Job Title: High Availability Database Expert

We are seeking an experienced High Availability Database Expert to ensure the reliability and scalability of our database infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4-8 years of experience running MySQL/PostgreSQL databases in large environments, awareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and knowledge of the internals of MySQL/PostgreSQL.

You will work closely with application teams to ship solutions that integrate seamlessly with our database systems, analyze solutions and implement best practices for supported datastores, and develop and enforce best practices for database security, backup, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure database infrastructure reliability and scalability
  • Work with application teams to integrate database systems
  • Analyze solutions and implement best practices for datastores
  • Develop and enforce database security, backup, and recovery best practices
  • Provide database expertise to engineering teams
  • Work on automation of database infrastructure

Requirements:

  • At least 4-8 years of experience running MySQL/PostgreSQL databases
  • Awareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
  • Knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL internals
  • Load balancing solutions knowledge (ProxySQL)
  • Database performance monitoring tools and methods knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Caching knowledge (Redis / Elasticache)
  • Scripting languages knowledge (Python)
  • Infrastructure automation knowledge (Terraform/Ansible)
  • DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines familiarity
