Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced professional with strong expertise in upgrading and maintaining mission-critical databases on the AWS cloud.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring database performance, availability, security, and scalability for our enterprise environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects to the latest version.
  • Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups in production environments.
  • Plan and implement database migrations to AWS services like RDS and EC2 with minimal downtime.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance including queries, indexes, statistics, and execution plans.
  • Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to the latest version in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other high-availability solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration services.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Familiarity with automation tools for database administration is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
