Job Description:

To strengthen our core technical team, we are seeking a Lead Database Migration & Integrity Specialist (designation can be

fine-tuned). This role goes beyond traditional database management: the candidate will act as the final gatekeeper for database

schema integrity and migrations across multiple Django-based applications (both monolithic and microservices).

The specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data structures, managing version control of

schemas, reviewing migrations before deployment, and ensuring that every release aligns with compliance, performance, and

scalability standards.

The ideal candidate is proactive, meticulous, and authoritative-a professional with a deep command of SQL, ORM and

migrations, and database governance. This individual will play a pivotal role in maintaining data reliability, security, and

documentation across all client-facing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

-Act as the final authority for database schema integrity and migrations across all applications.

-Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of company and client databases.

-Design and implement scalable database solutions to support core business applications, analytics, and future growth.

-Ensure database security, integrity, and availability through proactive governance and controls.

-Monitor performance and proactively optimize queries, indexes, and storage for mission-critical workloads.

-Develop and maintain backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies.

-Manage and audit database access rights, roles, and permissions to enforce least-privilege principles.

-Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and DevOps teams to integrate new systems, streamline CI/CD pipelines, and optimize existing deployments.

-Keep abreast of emerging database technologies, tools, and best practices, bringing innovation into the team.

-Lead troubleshooting efforts during critical incidents and provide authoritative guidance for resolution.

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database policies, architecture, migration repositories, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications & Skills

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).

- 2+ years of proven experience in database management, administration, or engineering.

-Strong expertise in SQL (PostgreSQL preferred; MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle also valuable).

Hands-on experience with Django ORM and migrations - reviewing, validating, and deploying schema changes in production environments.

-Solid understanding of database architecture (indexing, normalization, partitioning, replication, sharding).

-Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting mission-critical workloads.

-Familiarity with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).

-Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies in production.

-Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to act as the authoritative gatekeeper for database integrity.

- Bonus: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based migration repositories, and DevOps workflows.
