Contract Specialist I

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in evaluating, drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions with government and commercial customers, attorneys and procurement personnel.

  • Evaluate comprehensive contract documents with attention to detail and the ability to identify risks to the organization.
  • Interpret contract requirements and assess potential contract change impacts.
  • Develop a contract position and effectively communicate that position to stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contractual terms and suggest viable alternatives during negotiations to minimize organizational risk and maximize benefits.
  • Draft high-quality contractual language.
  • Collaborate with senior management and in-house counsel to resolve contractual issues.
  • Work closely with sales, project management and finance teams to coordinate contract details.
  • Close out contracts by finalizing outstanding contract issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Procurement, Contract Law or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar general contracting environment, preferably working directly in contract administration and/or paralegal work.
  • Strong understanding of contract law principles.
  • Reliable and self-managed individual with sound judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and analytical skills.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capacity to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency in maintaining databases (Salesforce experience is an asset).
