We are looking for a skilled Compensation Manager who can handle payroll duties for our India entity end to end. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling complete payroll cycles with full ownership and accountability.

Job Overview

The Payroll Assistant Manager role is a critical position within our Payroll Function, responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and laws. We are seeking a specialist/SME who can extend our current systems and processes to levels necessary to continue our rapid growth trajectory.

Main Responsibilities:
  • End to End payroll processing through a payroll platform with a thorough knowledge of applicable statutory deductions and benefits (PF, PT, ESIC, LWF etc.,)
  • Work with ADP Celergo team to ensure the newly implemented process is standardized, error-free and any risks are mitigated
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
  • Validation of final payroll input versus output
  • Establish standardized procedures to outline TAT (turnaround time) for payroll queries and organize helpdesk sessions (both remote and on-site)
  • Ensure F&F is processed after the handover of company assets and clearances
  • Preparation and filing of quarterly ETDS – FORM 26Q and FORM 27Q and issuing the FORM 16A certificate on time
  • Resolving queries of exited employees regarding F&F settlement
  • Preparation of revised salary fitment during the performance appraisal period
  • Coordinating/liaising with statutory compliance vendors to ensure the organisation complies with all the applicable Labor laws and Acts
  • Ensure compliance with National, state, and local regulations related to payroll, taxes, and benefits, including maintenance of applicable statutory registers
  • Processing Monthly, Quarterly and Annual returns
  • Collaborating with business leaders to align reward strategies with organisational goals and performance objectives
  • Assist in internal and external audits related to payroll and compliance matters. Prepare necessary documentation as required for audit purposes
  • Stay updated on changes in Indian labour laws and statutory requirements related to payroll
  • Identify areas of process improvement within payroll and compliance functions
Requirements:
  • Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Accomplished Senior / Lead Payroll Specialist with 4-8 years of progressive experience in Payroll and Statutory Compliance, preferably with experience in high growth environments (high technology, specifically in the software industry preferred)
  • ADP Celergo experience is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of National, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience working on EPFO, Income Tax and other necessary portals
  • Experience with auditing of challans and necessary statutory factors
  • The person should be sensitive and mature about handling employees' concerns/query
  • Proficient with MS Excel.
  • System savvy and ability to work with different applications and databases; experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud, NetSuite and other cloud-based ERPs is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work independently, yet cooperatively and constructively, in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proven success in building and managing team

The estimated annual salary for this position is $115,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
