As a senior cost estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our organization by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects. Your expertise in building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements will enable us to make informed decisions about project feasibility and profitability.
Responsibilities include preparing capital cost estimates, advising on building economics, drafting contract packages, and commercial evaluation of all tender submissions. You will also negotiate with tenderers, ascertain amounts due to contractors for price variation, and determine amounts of claims.
Additionally, you will prepare and feed into monthly Cost Reports, ensuring that our organization stays on top of financial performance.
Requirements- A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree is acceptable with 5-10 years' experience in a related field.
- Strong understanding of QS & cost management processes; ability to understand drawings for quantification.
- Chartered QS under a recognized organization such as RICS, SCSI, AIQS, NZIQS etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills with aptitude to work rapidly and accurately under pressure.
- Ability to coordinate with other staff and departments across Global offices located in the US.
