Senior HVAC Design Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our HVAC design team.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing complex HVAC systems for high-rise residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
  • This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems, design principles, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design HVAC systems that meet or exceed industry standards and client requirements.
  2. Develop and propose new products, technologies, and design improvements with feasibility studies.
  3. Conduct techno-commercial evaluations of various options and provide recommendations.
  4. Propose energy-saving and environment-friendly designs and products.
  5. Collaborate with architects and other discipline engineers to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems.
  6. Study and understand architectural and structural drawings.
  7. Provide detailed input to junior engineers and drafting engineers for preparation of quality drawings.
  8. Monitor progress and quality of drawings in Revit and CAD until GFC stage.
  9. Prepare lists of requirements and discrepancies in architectural and structural drawings.
  10. Concept design based on final architectural drawings.
  11. Prepare documents for sanction purposes as per codes and local norms.
  12. Attend design review meetings.
  13. Obtain sign-off on concept design before proceeding to detail design.
  14. Prepare design brief reports.
  15. Detail design as per approved concept and scheme.
  16. Check drawings along with checklists.
  17. Submit drawings as per commitments.
  18. Prepare HVAC duct routes and equipment layouts in Revit/BIM.
  19. Detail duct routes, BOM preparation in Revit/BIM.
  20. Prepare all HVAC drawings using Revit/BIM software.
  21. Prepare BOQ/estimate/technical specification/approved make along with takeoff sheets.
  22. Prepare tender drawings, specifications, BOM for floating tenders.
  23. Conduct technical evaluation of tenders and rating/recommendation of vendors.
  24. Conduct quality checks and inspections at site during different stages of construction.
  25. Obtain LEED/IGBC certification for the building.
  26. Review shop drawings and technical data sheets.
  27. Maintain documentation of all design materials and drawings.
  28. Hand over inspection as per requirements.
  29. Use specialized software to create design and drawings of products.
  30. Prepare equipment manuals/maintenance booklets for site teams.
  31. Develop As-Built drawings with in-house teams.
  32. Construction Administration: Evaluate test reports and oversee construction of HVAC systems of all projects.
  33. Review equipment and material submittals.
  34. Assist and resolve HVAC issues during/after construction.
  35. Complete construction visits and address issues regarding HVAC systems.
  36. Compliance: Comply with all relevant standards and procedures.
  37. Ensure compliance with project timelines.
  38. Communication & Collaboration: Communicate and coordinate with teams and departments to aid in architectural and engineering design.
  39. Engage with other teams during the design and construction period.
  40. Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years' experience OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years' experience.
  41. Working knowledge of Revit is essential.
