Electrical BIM Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Building Information Modelling (BIM) professional to create, manage, and coordinate 3D electrical models using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage 3D electrical models using industry-leading software such as Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360.
  • Create detailed electrical layouts, schematics, conduit/tray routing, panel schedules, and lighting and ELV systems.
  • Prepare accurate electrical circuit layouts, schematics, and construction drawings for project stakeholders.
  • Ensure clash detection and resolution by coordinating with other MEP disciplines through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Generate shop drawings, as-built drawings, and installation drawings based on design models, adhering to project-specific standards and protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors for BIM execution and coordination, promoting a seamless project delivery experience.
  • Familiarize yourself with project-specific BIM standards, LOD requirements, and documentation protocols to ensure successful project outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, demonstrating strong foundational knowledge of electrical systems and power distribution.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in BIM electrical modelling for MEP projects, showcasing expertise in software proficiency and project management.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360, Di-Roots, Dynamo, and other relevant software tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and cable routing principles.
  • Experience with clash detection, coordination, and multidisciplinary collaboration, ensuring seamless project delivery.
  • Knowledge of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and Level of Development (LOD) requirements, facilitating project success.

This role demands exceptional electrical design skills, Revit MEP proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating 3D electrical models using BIM software, driving project success through precision and attention to detail.
