Job Summary
Fernandes & Associates is seeking a skilled and courteous Front Desk Porter to provide exceptional guest services at our hotel.
Main Responsibilities
As a Front Desk Porter, you will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests upon arrival, relieving them of their luggage, and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable stay.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrival and Departure Assistance
- Check the daily arrival list for VIP guests or those with special needs.
- Be present at the Concierge/Reception desk or lobby to assist guests, colleagues, and visitors as needed.
- Luggage Handling
- Collect and deliver guest luggage and equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
- Tag baggage and return identification slips to guests.
- Guest Services
- Assist guests with luggage to the front desk.
- Escort guests to their rooms, placing luggage in assigned rooms.
- Inspect guest rooms for order and adequate supplies, and inform guests of room amenities.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Deliver faxes, messages, packages, and flowers to guest rooms and other offices.
- Provide items on loan to guests and collect them before departure.
- Inform the Front Desk Cashier to charge items given on loan, if applicable.
- Teamwork and Communication
- Assist the senior Concierge on duty during busy periods and breaks.
- Respond to guest requests and queries, providing a knowledgeable and helpful information service.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team. You should also be physically fit and able to lift and move luggage as needed.
