Cloud Database Specialist

We are seeking a Cloud Database Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our database services team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable and secure database solutions on cloud platforms.

You will lead delivery teams during client workshops and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to develop database architecture and solutions that meet performance and security requirements.

Your expertise in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, etc.) and strong hands-on experience in MS SQL and Oracle environments will be instrumental in delivering high-quality consulting services to our clients.

You will work closely with client stakeholders such as DBAs, developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to deliver solutions through workshops, solutioning, architecture, migrations, optimization, and administration.

  1. Lead client workshops to gather requirements, design solutions, and define database architecture for Oracle and MS SQL on Cloud.
  2. Plan, design, implement, and maintain database environments on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, etc.).
  3. Hands-on expertise in Installation & Configuration, Schema handling, User and Security Management, Backup & Restore, and Database Administration for MS SQL & Oracle.
  4. Architect-level knowledge of Server Security, DR Replication monitoring/configuration, High Availability (HA), Failover, and Replication.
  5. Develop and optimize database structures to ensure data integrity, performance, and security.
  6. Implement MS SQL & Oracle-related tools; write scripts for automation; perform advanced database performance tuning.
  7. Strong knowledge in setting up MS SQL & Oracle in HA architecture.
  8. Plan and implement backup strategies (including scripting) following best practices.
  9. Provide integration support with third-party monitoring systems.
  10. Administer Linux and Windows environments for database deployments (preferred).
  11. Familiarity with Virtual Machines (AWS EC2) and container technologies (Docker, etc.) is a plus.
  12. Experience with JDBC connection pools and database integration preferred.
  13. Use consultative techniques to engage with clients and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  14. Lead solutioning for 3-tier architectures and ensure compliance with contractual SLAs.

AWS certifications such as Solution Architect Associate or Professional are a plus, but not required. We also value candidates with certifications from other vendors such as Oracle and Microsoft.
