Commercial Property Accounting Professional

About the Opportunity:

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial properties owned by various funds and joint ventures. Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with lender, tax, and investor requirements. You will work closely with third-party property teams who manage day-to-day accounting operations using MRI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee property-level accounting, including financial reporting, cash management, and budgeting.
  • Review and approve third-party property accounting for accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage loan compliance, including debt service coverage ratio calculations and covenant analysis.
  • Prepare unaudited financial reports as required by ownership.
  • Provide comprehensive audit support and prepare audited financial statements with footnotes (FV and Tax basis).

Skill & Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in property accounting, with a strong background in commercial real estate.
  • Familiarity with fair value GAAP, tax accounting, and IFRS.
  • Experience with TRS (Taxable REIT Subsidiaries) and tenant recoveries (CAM).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial software systems applications, including MRI.
