Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Engine Field Service Technician to join our organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, performing diagnostic and repair tasks, and ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of engine systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Engage with customers in a professional and courteous manner, identifying opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Diagnosis and Repair: Utilize specialized tools and documented procedures to diagnose and complete less complex repairs on engines, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance activities on engine and related components in the field, adhering to documented standards.
  • Issue Escalation: Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced colleagues or supervisors for further assistance.
  • Service Documentation: Complete required documentation, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.
  • Training and Development: Participate in required training to maintain and enhance skills in line with business needs.
  • Vehicle and Tool Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and proper operation of service vehicles and tools.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting incidents to management and supervisors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical and Electronic preferred, with experience in Powergen segment.
  • Locally valid driving permit.
  • Licensing may be required for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Diagnostics Application: Translate customer complaints into troubleshooting plans using guided workflows, specialized tools, and diagnostic software.
  • Electronic Service Tool Application: Identify and use electronic tools for service events, diagnosing issues and determining next steps.
  • Engine Systems Interactions: Analyze electrical and mechanical system interactions to diagnose and repair engines efficiently.
  • Product Repair and Maintenance: Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products, disassembles and assembles engines or power generators, inspects and replaces parts, and performs damage checks.
  • Service Documentation: Capture and verify customer, equipment, and technical information, following procedures to document required information accurately.
  • Technical Escalation: Gather technical issue information, use data management tools, escalate complex issues as needed, and ensure accurate troubleshooting documentation.

Additional Responsibilities:

The role requires a Data Centre Support Technician with a qualification in B Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
