Job Overview

The role involves collaborating with a globally leading technology provider in the development, simulation, and testing of powertrain systems for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, construction, large engines, and their integration into the vehicle.

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining Python scripts and automation tools that align with existing codebases to drive quality, performance, and functionality.

  • Develop innovative solutions using state-of-the-art AI tools, such as ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot, to meet quality, performance, and functionality requirements.

You will write clean, modular, and reusable code with proper architecture, documentation, and robust error handling.

  • Design and implement unit and integration tests using frameworks like pytest or unit test to ensure high test coverage and meaningful assertions.

You will also participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support ongoing improvement of development practices.

  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver robust solutions that meet business objectives.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of software engineering principles and clean coding practices.

A strong background on automotive SW development tools (Simulink, Jira, Targetlink, Canape, ECUTest) is required.

Proficiency with modern Python features and libraries (e.g., typing, f-strings, context managers) is essential.

Experience validating and adapting AI-generated code responsibly is necessary.

  • High analytical and conceptual skills and ability to work independently are required.

Good presentation and English language skills are also necessary for effective communication.
