Infrastructure Manager Job Opportunity

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Manager to oversee the development and operation of our large-scale data platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with expertise in managing complex distributed systems and experience working with Hadoop-based technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of large-scale data environments to ensure availability, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects related to big data platforms and data pipelines, ensuring SRE support for reliability.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
  • Identify and address skill gaps within the team, providing training and mentorship opportunities to enhance engineering capabilities.
  • Design and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of management experience leading teams of engineers, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong expertise in troubleshooting complex production issues, prioritizing multiple tasks under pressure, and driving resolution through collaborative effort.
  • Proficiency in using incident life cycle management tools like ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, etc., to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Experience managing Hadoop clusters with hundreds of nodes and petabytes of data running thousands of jobs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and the ability to evaluate their feasibility in supporting business objectives.
  • Excellent client engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively communicate value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to improving uptime and availability of mission-critical services, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
