Job Title: HVAC Design Engineer

Job Description:

The role involves designing and implementing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for oil and gas facilities. Key responsibilities include performing load calculations, selecting and sizing equipment, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

  • Design HVAC systems to meet project requirements, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems.
  • Perform heat load calculations, cooling load calculations, and airflow analysis using software like HAP, Trace 700, or Carrier E-20.
  • Select and size HVAC equipment based on project needs, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.
  • Design ductwork, piping layouts, and control systems using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
  • Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local building codes.
  • Perform energy efficiency analysis and optimize HVAC systems for cost and sustainability.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, architects, and contractors for system integration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC design and engineering is necessary.

Proficiency in HVAC design software (HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Carrier E-20) is essential.

Strong knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, psychrometrics, and refrigeration cycles is also required.

  • Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other HVAC standards.
  • Experience in energy modeling and sustainable HVAC system design.
  • Ability to troubleshoot HVAC system performance issues.
