Hands-on Opportunity in Mechanical Assembly and Fabrication
Are you passionate about hands-on work in mechanical assembly and fabrication? We're seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team.
- This role involves working on diverse projects ranging from consumer electronics to special-purpose machines.
- Responsibilities will include assisting in the assembly and fabrication of mechanical parts and systems, following technical drawings and instructions for precise builds, supporting troubleshooting mechanical issues during prototyping, handling tools and workshop equipment safely and efficiently, working with vendors for fabrication and component procurement, contributing to prototype development and quality checks, supporting 3D CAD work and documentation where needed, procuring local components necessary for mechanical assembly and prototyping, and collaborating with external vendors to ensure accurate fabrication of designs.
Requirements:
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
- Eagerness to engage in hands-on tasks—fabrication, assembly, and testing—is essential.
- Understanding of mechanical components and how things fit together is crucial.
- Ability to follow instructions and stay detail-oriented during builds is necessary.
- Clear communication skills, especially when coordinating with vendors and team members, are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with fabrication tools would be beneficial.
- Exposure to workshop practices would be advantageous.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative in solving practical problems would be valuable.
- Familiarity with mechanical drawings and interpreting them during assembly would be helpful.
