Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct detailed cost of goods sold breakdowns for biosimilar products (drug substance, drug product, packaging, logistics). Benchmark internal costs with industry standards and competitors Monitor key performance indicators to measure the impact of cost reduction initiatives.
  2. Develop and execute a multi-year cost reduction roadmap aligned with business objectives Identify quick wins and long-term structural changes for cost optimization.
  3. Collaborate with Process Development and Manufacturing teams to optimize upstream and downstream processes, identify inefficiencies in the process and recommend cost saving measures Drive implementation of single-use systems, continuous manufacturing, or other advanced bioprocessing technologies where feasible.
  4. Work with Procurement to negotiate better pricing for raw materials, resins, excipients, and consumables Explore alternative suppliers, dual sourcing, and localization strategies Align
  5. Identify opportunities for reducing logistics, warehousing, and cold-chain costs Optimize inventory and production planning to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  6. Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, and Compliance teams to ensure that cost-saving initiatives meet regulatory standards.
  7. Build robust cost models to assess the impact of proposed initiatives Perform variance analysis to detect discrepancies and implement corrective actions Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  8. Act as the liaison between R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams for cost-related initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field MBA or specialized certifications in cost management or lean manufacturing preferred.
  • 710+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or operations, with at least 3 years focusing on biosimilars Proven track record of leading successful cost reduction initiatives.
