Contract Management Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Manager to join our team at ScaleneWorks. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial contracts and be able to advise on legal and contractual aspects.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain a strong understanding of ScaleneWorks' products and services and the technical solution provided to each of our customers to appropriately advise stakeholders on contractual risks and issues.

• Be an accountable advisor to senior business leaders and advise on legal and contractual aspects.

• Represent ScaleneWorks' interests at customer meetings.

• Review and analyse claims that may be received from customers and advise on them.

• Coordinate with invoicing and invoice collection teams to ensure that invoices are raised as per contractual provisions and all contractual levers for collection of overdue payments are utilized.

• Coordinate with external law firms as required to help them understand disputes/issues.

• Prepare executive briefing decks on contract issues for ScaleneWorks and customer stakeholders.

• Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements contract standards and cost targets.

• Proactive monitoring of obligations and early warning and profit leakage triggers with ongoing development of handling plans.

• Maintain contractual documents, files, correspondence, meeting minutes, and other applicable documents.

• Summarize and conform contract summaries to the account team.

• Provide ongoing expert advice to account teams regarding legal and commercial implications of specific terms and conditions in contracts.

• Constantly improve and report on project/account performance to internal leadership.

Requirements

• Strong business acumen with analytical and problem-solving skills, understanding of contracts risk management, and knowledge of CLM practices.

• Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision and to respond swiftly in high-pressure situations in a detail-oriented, organized, and flexible manner.

• Consistently able to present complex subject matter in a clear and concise manner, separating the real issue from the detail.

• Strong time management skills and ability to manage delivery commitments with a professional and positive attitude.

• Ability to advise and interact with all levels of management.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Project management skills.

• Strong networking skills.

Qualifications

• Any graduate, preferably with a law degree.

• 10 years of relevant experience in legal/contract management (IT outsourcing industry experience preferred).

• Ability to work onsite alongside ScaleneWorks account team and customers.

• Good working knowledge of fundamental legal provisions and commercial risks and issues of commercial contracts.

• Keen interest in using and embracing tools, technology, and metrics for the benefit of internal and external customers.
