Job Title: Portfolio Director

A successful Portfolio Director will oversee and coordinate multiple related initiatives, programs, and/or projects to ensure they align with the organization’s strategic objectives.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives. The ideal candidate will be able to drive continuous improvement in program management practices and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program/Project Scope Management: Define and manage the program/project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with organizational goals and leadership requirements.
  • Program/Project Planning: Develop and maintain a detailed program/project plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Execution Oversight: Coordinate and oversee the execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor program/project metrics according to the methodology used.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and address any issues or risks that may impact delivery.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Governance and Reporting: Ensure program governance processes are followed, including regular status updates and decision-making forums.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in program management practices and methodologies.
  • Resource Optimization: Optimize resource allocation across the program to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment with business objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Process Improvement: Ability to drive continuous improvement in program management practices and methodologies.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of program and project management methodologies.
  • Program Planning: Expertise in developing and managing comprehensive program plans.
  • Risk Management: Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating program risks.
  • Budget Management: Strong skills in managing program budgets and financials.
  • Change Management: Ability to manage and lead change within the program.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in program and project management.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Program Management Tools: Proficiency in program management tools and software.
