Job Title: Dam Design Specialist (International Expert)

We are seeking an experienced Dam Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the design and review of dam rehabilitation projects.

  • Review submitted preliminary study reports, focusing on design aspects and basic layout plans, ensuring that they meet our high standards.
  • Assess and finalize the preliminary design of rehabilitation works for dams before submission to external agencies, providing expert input and recommendations.
  • Provide need-based design of major rehabilitation components to support dam safety initiatives, utilizing your knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Estimate costs based on item rate analysis or scheduled rates, ensuring that our projects are completed within budget.
  • Offer expert input for physical modeling of significant structural interventions, providing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Participate in cross-functional quality assurance activities as a third-party representative, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and integrity.
  • Conduct dam safety inspections and manage transmittals, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Facilitate capacity building of dam safety professionals through customized training programs, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the revision of existing guidelines and formulation of new ones, ensuring that our organization stays ahead of the curve.
  • Provide inputs for national databases and management information systems, supporting data-driven decision making.
  • Assist in the development of in-house expertise at academic institutions, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop training calendars for design activities and customized training programs, ensuring that our staff receives the training they need to excel.
  • Conduct need-based inspections of dams, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Accompany central teams for special safety issues, providing expert input and guidance.
  • Support assigned dam-related activities, working collaboratively with other teams to achieve common goals.
  • Presents technical case studies at conferences and workshops, sharing knowledge and best practices with industry peers.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in dam design and rehabilitation.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading dam design and rehabilitation projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
