About the Role:

As a Data QA Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing large datasets of raw financial transaction spend data. Your primary responsibility will be to review and update this data to ensure it accurately represents business expense insights.

Using proprietary software and Google Sheets, you will verify and correct financial transaction data based on U.S. accounting rules. This includes manually adjusting data by reviewing expense trends over time, across many vendors and different accounting record types.

You will also deduplicate overlapping transactions, adjust amortization dates of expenses, and infer amortization dates when necessary. Additionally, you will verify and tag the correct vendor for each transaction and document repeated data issues to improve our data quality assurance processes.

This is a fully remote role based in India, with some overlap expected with U.S. work hours during the first few weeks of training and onboarding. You will collaborate closely with our U.S.-based Data Product team every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and update raw financial transaction spend data
  • Verify and correct financial transaction data based on U.S. accounting rules
  • Deduplicate overlapping transactions
  • Adjust amortization dates of expenses
  • Infer amortization dates when necessary
  • Verify and tag the correct vendor for each transaction
  • Document repeated data issues

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience as a data or quality assurance analyst
  • At least 1 year of full-time work experience as an A/P bookkeeper, junior accountant, Accounts Payables (A/P) clerk, or in a similar position using U.S. accounting practices
  • Experience with Netsuite, Sage, Quickbooks, Xero (or similar ERP software)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Ability to manage multiple processes in parallel
  • Pleasure in solving problems and puzzles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
