Project Delivery Expert

This role is part of a team supporting project delivery under senior or project engineer supervision.

  • The Team Lead will be responsible for the preparation of feasibility study reports meeting brief requirements in agreed format and review with Local CRC Head of Structures.
  • Working with WSP SG Team to assemble design specification compliant with employers' requirements, agree its format and content, and monitor and review its preparation ensuring timely delivery.
  • Agreement and monitoring of scope of works with Local iCRC Head of Structures.
  • Clear definition of building requirements and purpose of use with Local iCRC Head of Structures and WSP SG Team for detailed design.
  • Detailed design to WSP and B Regulations standard ensuring CDM, QA, and technical review and sign off by Local iCRC Head of Structures, including complex calculations and coordination issues.
  • Review and monitoring of production of calculations including QA, technical reviews, and sign off.
  • Ensuring information for project costing preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keeping the WSP SG Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions.
  • Providing documentary information via the WSP SG Team to assist in preparation of tender documents, ensuring that information for tender preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keeping the WSP SG Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisions.
  • Coordination of project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and reviewing input from team members.
  • Handling day-to-day queries from the WSP SG Team, ensuring that relevant information is available on time for construction activity.
  • Reporting to the WSP SG Team in association with the Local iCRC Head of Structures any variance between the works constructed and the design intent.
  • Project managing commissions from the WSP SG Team using applicable project management tools.
  • Leading the design process and encouraging the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions to the agreed program.
  • Following in full the document control, archiving CDM, and QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence are issued and filed in an appropriate manner, coaching junior staff in their usage.
Key Competencies/Skills:
  • The applicant will have proven experience in design of Building Structures with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.
  • Good presentation skills are also required.
  • Must be fully conversant with technical structural software such as RAM, CSC, ETABSs, and SAFE.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential.
  • Must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
Qualifications:
  • The applicant should ideally have obtained British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, possess a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, and possess membership to an accredited engineering body.
