Accessibility Specialist Job Description
The Accessibility Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accessibility of websites, mobile apps, and digital documents for clients. This includes auditing, testing, remediation, and compliance reporting.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Assess: Conduct automated and manual audits for websites, portals, LMS, documents, and multimedia content.
  • Test: Perform real-user accessibility testing with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Remediate: Provide clear, prioritized fixes and hands-on remediation support for PDFs and Office documents, videos and multimedia, and third-party platforms and LMS content.
  • Guide developers on accessible coding practices.
  • Prepare VPATs/ACRs and client-facing accessibility conformance documentation.
  • Advise clients on ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, and emerging US/state accessibility laws.
  • Support quarterly monitoring and ongoing compliance programs.

**Required Skills & Qualifications:**
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title II/III, Section 504/508.
  • Hands-on experience with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Axe, WAVE, SiteImprove, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript (React/Angular a plus).
  • Strong documentation/reporting skills.
  • Experience supporting federal, state, or higher education contracts preferred.

**Preferred Certifications:**
  • IAAP CPWA (Certified Professional in Web Accessibility).
  • IAAP WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist).
  • IAAP ADS (Accessible Document Specialist).
  • DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester.
  • IAAP CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies).
