Supply Chain Specialist Role Summary

The position of Supply Chain Specialist involves coordinating with multiple teams to ensure the uninterrupted supply of generic formulations. This entails developing and maintaining effective supply plans, including managing inventory levels, optimizing production schedules, and ensuring service levels across various markets.

  • Develop medium-to-long term production plans based on demand forecasts, inventory norms, transit times, and manufacturing capacities.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team, API planning, logistics, procurement, quality, and commercial teams to optimize inventory, minimize costs, and ensure service levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and obsolescence.
  • Monitor capacity constraints, escalate risks, and propose mitigation actions.
  • Optimize inventory holdings in consultation with finance and commercial teams, ensuring availability of finished goods.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with demand planning and commercial teams to align supply plans with market requirements.
  • Support strategic business processes by providing supply scenarios and constraints where applicable.
  • Act as a liaison between production, QA/QC, regulatory, procurement, API planning, logistics, and commercial teams.
  • Ensure timely readiness of materials, artwork, and regulatory approvals for production.
  • Identify supply risks, delays, or constraints and implement corrective actions.
  • Track and manage inventory shelf-life risks, batch expiry management, and re-testing needs.
