Job Opportunity: Senior Litigation Expert

The position of Chief Manager is a challenging role that requires exceptional leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of litigation procedures. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for managing complex legal matters, including arbitration, contractual disputes, and criminal cases.

  • A minimum of 8-12 years of experience in litigation with a strong background in the power sector or infrastructure industry.
  • Exceptional knowledge of construction, EPC, and infrastructure sectors, including Electricity and Telegraph Act, procedural practice of courts, and related statutes.
About the Role:

This role demands a high level of expertise in handling complex legal matters, including arbitration, contractual disputes, and criminal cases. You will be responsible for:

  1. Managing and strategizing litigation according to company objectives and providing advice on legal positions in case of litigation, backed by the latest law position and court decisions.
  2. Representing the company in matters before Writ Courts, District Courts, DRT, Claim Tribunal, Consumer Courts, etc.
  3. Drafting, vetting, and finalizing SLPs, writ petitions, civil suits, criminal complaints, claim petitions, counter affidavits, replies, and replications.
  4. Briefing senior and external legal counsels on matters, coordinating updates on pending cases, and preparing/monitoring legal MIS for control and monitoring.
  5. Analyzing risks before entering commercial and financial agreements, drafting legal agreements, and ensuring company compliance with statutory and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Handling litigation matters related to RoW compensation, Land Acquisition, Arbitration, Constitutional issues, claims, contractual disputes, and criminal cases.
  • Ensuring pragmatic, prompt, and cost-effective disposal/resolution of legal issues.
  • Managing critical/high-stake litigation, drafting and negotiating contracts, reviewing contract terms, creating/update standard templates, and ensuring company compliance with statutory and legal requirements.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 8-12 years of experience in litigation with a strong background in the power sector or infrastructure industry.
  • Exceptional knowledge of construction, EPC, and infrastructure sectors, including Electricity and Telegraph Act, procedural practice of courts, and related statutes.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also be able to analyze complex legal information, identify key issues, and develop effective solutions.
