Job Description

Finance & Operations Lead

We are on a mission to reconnect young Indians in real life by creating a platform for meaningful offline interactions, such as reading books, debating politics, and volunteering.

The Finance & Operations Lead will oversee the financial strategy, fundraising, and operational scale-up of our platform. This individual will ensure we have the necessary resources, systems, and processes to grow sustainably from Day 1.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Fundraising
    • Develop and manage comprehensive financial models (unit economics, CAC/LTV, marketplace liquidity).
    • Lead fundraising efforts: prepare investor materials, create pitch decks, manage financial modelling and investor relations.
    • Establish robust financial systems: accounting, compliance, reporting, unit economics, CAC/LTV analysis.
    • Oversee compliance, accounting, and corporate governance.
  • Marketplace Operations
    • Design and execute a marketplace operations playbook.
    • Develop operational processes for venue partnerships, equipment rentals, and event logistics.
    • Balancing marketplace liquidity: ensuring enough hosts & events to meet attendee demand.
    • Build trust & safety operations: dispute resolution, refunds, and community guidelines.
  • Scaling & Partnerships
    • Oversee legal & compliance frameworks: contracts, NDAs, corporate structure, MCA compliance.
    • Forge partnerships with venues, service providers, and student organizations.
    • Develop KPI dashboards: event volume, ticket sales, host retention, repeat attendance.
    • Hire and manage community managers and operational staff as we grow.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong background in finance, consulting, or startup operations.
  • Prior experience in marketplaces or consumer platforms is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to manage logistics, partnerships, and customer support.
  • Strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves in early execution.
  • Passion for building communities and scaling people-first businesses.
