The role of a Financial Operations Manager involves overseeing accounting activities across various geographies. Key responsibilities include planning, implementing, and managing the overall accounting strategy and finance operations.
- Accounting Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive accounting strategy to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Finance Operations: Manage day-to-day finance activities, including general ledger, payroll, utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Reconciliations: Handle reconciliations related to capital assets, trust accounts, check runs, fixed asset activity, and debt activity.
- Financial Analysis: Monitor and analyze accounting data to generate timely and accurate financial statements and reports.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, policies, and procedures while maintaining a deep understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Month-End Closures: Drive timely month-end closures as per company expectations.
- Daily Banking: Assist the Controller/CFO with daily banking requirements, including accurate processing of positive pay transactions.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the entire finance team and management to align with departmental and organizational goals.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and use of resources within the department.
- MIS Reporting: Design and implement MIS reporting formats, deliver standalone and consolidated reports to management on a monthly basis.
- Stakeholder Communication: Address queries from the Director of Finance/Controller and other stakeholders related to financial results or ad hoc reporting needs.
- Team Supervision: Supervise the general ledger team to ensure timely compliance with all financial reporting deadlines.
- Process Development: Support the development and implementation of new accounting procedures and departmental workflows.
- Special Projects: Work on special projects and initiatives aimed at process improvement and system optimization.
- SME Role: Serve as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for bookkeeping on Zoho and Tally platforms.
