Job Description

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including drawings, reports, permits, and correspondence, to ensure compliance and facilitate project management.
  • Conduct preliminary site inspections to assess site conditions, identify potential challenges, and gather information necessary for project planning and execution.
  • Interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to ensure accurate implementation of design plans and specifications.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing site activities, progress updates, issues encountered, and recommended solutions for review by project stakeholders.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other project expenses to support budgeting and cost control efforts.
  • Implement and enforce quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure that construction activities meet specified standards and project requirements.
  • Review and authorize technical drawings and engineering plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, design specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate project feasibility, considering technical, financial, and logistical factors, and provide recommendations for approval or modification to project plans.
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to promote a safe working environment for all site personnel and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Monitor project costs and variations, tracking expenses, identifying deviations from the budget, and implementing corrective measures as necessary to maintain cost control.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among project team members, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Evaluate site operations and processes to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline workflows, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Provide support to the project management team by coordinating site activities, resolving issues, and addressing project-related concerns in a timely manner.
  • Undertake technical activities as required, including site surveys, measurements, material testing, and construction supervision, to ensure project quality and progress.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as civil engineering, architecture, or construction management.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably with a reputable organization.
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
