Business Taxation Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Business Taxation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organization's objectives by adding value through tax planning, preserving value by reducing tax risks, and enhancing value by finding opportunities.

The Business Taxation Specialist will be responsible for managing tax and regulatory compliances, adapting operating models to tax and regulatory environments, and assisting in strategic decision-making. They will regularly assess and improve operations and stay abreast of relevant global tax & statutory changes with the aim of boosting tax efficiency and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have experience in advising businesses on protecting profitability, ensuring monitoring of tax governance, and aligning on tax positions adopted by engagement teams, internal finance systems, and external stakeholders.

They will manage relationships with tax consultants and internal/external auditors to ensure effective compliance on tax and regulatory positions and policies to minimize possibilities of litigation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring tax governing frameworks on tax assets realization to avoid working capital lock-in and ensuring review of operations to avoid tax leakage.
  • Timely execution of tax and regulatory compliance with accuracy and quality.
  • Effective management of tax assessments and litigation, conducting due research on tax matters, and representing tax positions adopted with detailed documentation within timelines.
  • Timely closure of audit points with complete and accurate submission of schedules and documents.
  • Ensuring timeline response to engagement consultation and adequate safeguard in engagement documents from tax and regulatory perspectives.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.

  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing technological advancements and automation practices to drive efficiency in finance processes impacting tax and regulatory compliances.
