About the Role

The successful candidate will have extensive experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments, with a proven track record of upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Migrate databases to AWS (RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions) with minimal downtime, utilizing cloud migration tools and expertise.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server performance, applying knowledge of query optimization and indexing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures, to support team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices, contributing to a secure and reliable database environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you will require:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS database migration (DMS, RDS, EC2, or hybrid solutions).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
