Database Administrator Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to oversee the performance and scalability of our databases. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, maintaining, and administering NoSQL databases, including Cassandra and MongoDB.

This role involves collaborating with team members to manage SQL-based and Cassandra/NoSQL databases, managing mission-critical high transaction rate databases, installing, configuring, and upgrading nodes in high availability customer production clusters, and evaluating and improving database architecture for reliability and scalability.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with team members to manage databases
  • Manage high-transaction-rate databases, including configuration, administration, monitoring, security management, performance optimization, replication, troubleshooting, and backup
  • Install, configure, and upgrade nodes in high-availability clusters
  • Evaluate and improve database architecture for scalability
Requirements:
  • At least 7 years of experience in designing, maintaining, and administering NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB)
  • 6+ years of experience in designing, maintaining, and administering traditional SQL-based databases (MySQL, MariaDB, Percona)
  • Experience managing message bus infrastructures preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and experience evangelizing technical best practices
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline required
