Job Title: Release Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Release Planning & Execution: Develop and maintain comprehensive release plans that outline timelines, milestones, and dependencies across the release lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Development, QA, Operations, and Product Management teams to ensure alignment and preparation for upcoming releases.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, track, and mitigate potential risks or issues impacting release timelines or quality.
  • Change Management: Ensure all changes are well-documented, communicated, and approved according to established change control processes.
  • Cloud Deployment Oversight: Coordinate deployments in cloud environments, ensuring compliance with relevant security and operational policies.
  • Automation & CI/CD: Champion continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices; drive automation to improve release reliability and efficiency.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track release progress and provide regular updates, including detailed performance metrics and status reports to stakeholders.
  • Issue Resolution: Lead issue resolution during release phases to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Release Calendar Management: Maintain and manage the organization's release calendar, ensuring coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Merge Management: Oversee merging validated changes into main code branches, coordinating closely with development and QA teams.
  • Change Advisory Board (CAB): Present planned changes in CAB meetings and secure approvals as required.
  • Go/No-Go Readiness: Organize Go/No-Go meetings with stakeholders to assess readiness before deployment.
  • Post-Release Activities: Monitor post-release performance, coordinate hotfixes if needed, and facilitate Post-Implementation Reviews.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure complete, up-to-date release-related documentation meets compliance standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certification in Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS Solutions Architect.
  • Familiarity with Containerization & Orchestration Tools: Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Monitoring & Observability Tools: Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
  • Strong Understanding of Release Processes: Strong understanding of release processes in complex environments.
  • Process Improvement Expertise: Proven ability to drive process improvements and optimize workflows.
