Job Title: Senior Culinary Manager

Responsibilities and Expectations:

The primary role of this position is to oversee the overall culinary operation, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing kitchen staff, providing coaching, guidance, and support to ensure a productive and efficient work environment.
  • Overseeing menu planning, inventory management, and food preparation, ensuring adherence to quality standards and nutritional guidelines.
  • Coordinating with other departments, such as front-of-house and events teams, to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety protocols throughout the kitchen.
  • Conducting daily audits and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans, focusing on revenue growth, customer engagement, and operational excellence.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, vendors, and external partners to optimize purchasing and logistics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship setting, with at least 2 years in a similar management capacity.
  • Relevant degree or certification from a recognized culinary institution, such as a hospitality management program.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and quality control principles, with the ability to apply them in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including point-of-sale systems, inventory management tools, and Microsoft Office.
