The Role of Senior Associate in Tax Litigation

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Associate to handle a range of tax litigation matters.

The ideal candidate will have experience in handling engagements related to Indirect Tax Laws, Appeals, Representation before various forums, Litigation Management Service, Tax Restructuring, and Tax Advisory. The scope includes GST, Customs, Service Tax, VAT, and Excise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Partnership & Leadership:
    • Develop strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted business advisor.
    • Participate in advising clients on strategic issues and understanding their needs.
    • Lead multi-disciplinary teams across the organization in providing services to important accounts.
  • Commercial Acumen & Industry Trends:
    • Provide insights on global trends, emerging industry issues, and best practices on client assignments.
    • Proactively alert clients on business environment changes that impact or would impact them.
  • Marketing & Business Development:
    • Create and manage strong, independent relationships with clients at senior positions with minimal partner involvement.
    • Expand the client base with new wins and conversions (both existing and new clients) for the business unit.
    • Leverage internal and external networks to build and grow the firm's business.
  • Assignment Planning & Management:
    • Pricing, billing, and recovery strategies.
    • Maximize fee opportunities.
  • Leadership & Teamwork:
    • Take a leadership role where appropriate.
    • Create a high-performance climate in the team.
    • Work effectively in cross-service-line engagements.
    • Be a role model, mentor, and coach.
    • Assist in resolving people issues within the service line.
    • Project the firm's values in conduct.
    • Contribute to talent acquisition by identifying and referring high-quality candidates for the business unit.
