Job Title: Senior Assurance Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Assurance Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing audit procedures and tests in accordance with our methodology, ensuring proper documentation of work performed.

Responsibilities:
  • Client Understanding: Develop an understanding of clients' needs and expectations, including their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values, and industry-related IFRS or GAAP issues.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop and demonstrate an understanding of our audit approach, methodology, and tools.
  • Audit Procedures: Perform audit procedures and tests in accordance with our audit methodology based on the overall audit plan, ensuring proper documentation of work performed.
  • Risk Identification: Identify areas of risk and accounting and auditing issues; discuss with engagement teams to solve issues that arise.
  • Research and Development: Research technical accounting issues and develop industry expertise.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare audit reports and management letters, exercising professional skepticism, judgment, and adherence to the code of ethics while on engagements.
  • Documentation and Quality: Ensure that documentation is compliant with quality standards of the firm.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively as part of the team and communicate effectively with RSM audit professionals.
  • Supervision and Development: Provide supervision and development training for associates.
  • Service Excellence: Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables to ensure service excellence through prompt responses to internal and external clients.
  • Professional Development: Ensure professional development through ongoing education.
  • Project Participation: Participate in a range of projects and be open to collaborate and work with multiple teams, demonstrating critical thinking, problem-solving, initiative, and timely completion of work.
Required Qualifications:
  • Certification: Semi-qualified ACCA/CPA or Qualified CA/ACCA/Licensed CPA.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience working in an accounting and audit-related field specifically NFP industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in accounting including IFRS or GAAP and GAAS.
  • Data Analytical Skills: Strong data analytical skills including advanced Excel skills (Vlookups, pivot tables, and basic formulas), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English as the position requires frequent communications with clients and engagement teams.
