About the Centre:

The Centre for Capital Markets aims to promote education, research, training, and innovation in financial markets, fintech, quantitative finance, and investment management.

Job Purpose

  • The Programme Director will lead the strategic, academic, and operational initiatives of the Centre.
  • The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with experience in academia, research management, or financial services, capable of building collaborations and driving impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
  1. Formulate and execute the long-term vision and strategy of the Centre.
  2. Develop programmes aligned with the Centre's mandate in financial markets research and education.
Education and Research Program Management:
  1. Provide support for research projects, working papers, and publications in financial markets and related areas.
  2. Support faculty-led research, student engagement, and visiting scholar initiatives.
  3. Provide required support for organising training programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and certificate courses.
Industry and Stakeholder Engagement:
  1. Build partnerships with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other organisations.
  2. Organise seminars, panel discussions, and talks/lectures by industry experts.
Operational Oversight:
  1. Manage day-to-day administration of the Centre, including budgeting, reporting, and resource planning.
  2. Supervise support staff, interns, and research associates.
Communication and Outreach:
  1. Oversee the Centre's visibility, including publications, newsletters, and website updates.
  2. Represent the Centre at conferences, academic forums, and industry meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or related discipline.
  • At least 15 years of experience in academic and/or research institutions, financial services companies, industry associations, or other relevant organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage academic and research programmes.
  • Good understanding of financial markets, fintech, or quantitative finance is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with academic institutions or research centres.
  • Strong professional network in finance or policy domains.
  • Familiarity with grant writing, fundraising, and donor engagement.
