We are seeking an Environmental Health Specialist to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental health policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Maintain EHS Programs: Create, implement, and maintain effective EHS policies, procedures, and programs that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct Regular Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Risk Assessments and Control Measures: Perform risk assessments to evaluate workplace hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Culture of Safety and Environmental Stewardship: Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.
  • EHS Training and Education: Provide EHS training and education to employees, ensuring they understand safety protocols and procedures.
  • Incident Investigations: Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • EHS Performance Metrics: Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, preparing reports for management and recommending improvements as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with EHS regulations and best practices, ensuring the organization is informed of changes that may impact operations.
  • Liaison with Regulatory Agencies: Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in EHS management or a related role.
  • EHS Knowledge: Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (e.g. OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001).
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Certification: Certification in EHS-related fields (e.g. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar) is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
  • Industry Experience: Experience in a specific industry (e.g. manufacturing, construction, chemical) may be advantageous.
  • Emergency Response: Familiarity with emergency response and crisis management planning.
