Role Summary

In the context of Tata AIG, the Relationship Manager plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and profitability. This involves supervising business delivery under the Banca team and establishing strategic partnerships with banks, NBFCs, and microfinance companies.

The RM is responsible for managing channel relationships, ensuring seamless communication with stakeholders, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

The Relationship Manager is accountable for achieving overall gross written premium, which involves:

  • Team Management: Leading and mentoring a high-performing team to achieve business objectives.
  • Channel Relationship: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, NBFCs, and microfinance companies.
  • Visit Branches: Conducting regular visits to branches to ensure effective implementation of business strategies.
  • Conduct Meetings: Organizing and participating in meetings with stakeholders to discuss business growth opportunities.
  • Regular Training: Providing regular training to bank employees on TAGIC products to enhance their knowledge and skills.

The RM is also responsible for maintaining renewal of business, which involves:

  • Timely Follow-up: Ensuring timely follow-up with clients to maintain business relationships.
  • Tracking: Regularly tracking business performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Driving Retention: Fostering a culture of retention within the organization to maintain business relationships.

The Relationship Manager is also responsible for maintaining hygiene, which involves:

  • Proper QC: Ensuring proper quality control and issuance of premium collected.
  • Proactive Handling: Proactively handling claims to ensure timely resolution.

The RM is also responsible for getting new business, which involves:

  • New LOBs: Identifying and pursuing new lines of business opportunities.
  • New Products: Developing and customizing new products for banking customers.
Stakeholder Interfaces

The Relationship Manager interfaces with various stakeholders, including:

  • Internal Clients: Operations, Underwriting Team, Human Resources, and Claims Team.
  • External Clients: Banks, NBFCs, and end customers.
