Job Description

The Contracts Negotiator plays a pivotal role in supporting the business by streamlining legal review of commercial agreements. This involves drafting and negotiating various commercial contracts, including NDAs, statements of work, master agreements, and data privacy agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for commercial agreements according to internal guidelines.
  • Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties or internally with the company.
  • Develop creative solutions and draft alternative terms, working closely with attorneys within the Legal team.
  • Obtain approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educate internal teams on contract terms and legal obligations.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Legal administrative processes and legal documents.

Requirements:

  • University level degree or equivalent, with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions.
  • Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing is required.
  • Familiarity with media organizations is desirable.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with commercial contract management and understanding of contract and commercial law.

This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines. Strong communication and follow-up skills are also essential.
