Senior Data Engineer

Driving Business Growth with Advanced Analytics Solutions

As a senior data engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining our organisation's advanced analytics capabilities.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, creating, managing, and business use of large datasets.
  • A strong understanding of data modelling, SQL, ETL, data warehousing, and data lakes is required.
  • The successful candidate will be able to bring data sets together to answer business questions and drive growth.

This role involves working with new technologies while driving business intelligence solutions end-to-end: business requirements, data modelling, ETL, metadata, reporting, and dashboarding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement the information data lake using insight platforms to enable decision support systems for the overall organization.
  • Partner with the business and stakeholders to understand their data and reporting requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain ETLs to ingest data into the data warehouse and data lake.
  • Collaborate with business customers and development teams to define requirements and deliver flexible, scalable, end-to-end solutions.
  • Apply expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience transforming data using Azure data factory.
  • Experience working with Spark and Azure Databricks.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple conflicting requirements with high attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, PySpark, or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of Azure Databricks and MPP databases.
  • Experience with Data Lake development.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases (such as Cosmos DB, MongoDB).
  • Experience working on Microsoft Power BI dashboards.
