Job Title: Senior Engineering Director

Leading solid state power conversion company has an immediate opening for a Senior Engineering Director to lead the development of Mega Watt scale converters using SiC devices and IGBT devices for various applications.

  • Lead a team of engineers in overseeing the design, development, and testing of power electronic systems.
  • Develop a manufacturing roadmap to support the execution of the product roadmap.
  • Oversee design, development, and testing of power electronic circuits, converters, inverters, controls, software, and integrated systems.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary R&D team including electronics/Electrical engineers, Embedded Software/Hardware developers, and test engineers.
  • Manage R&D project portfolios, ensure timely delivery of prototypes, validation, and product transfer to manufacturing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of the team
  • Define and lead the R&D strategy to develop products meeting application requirements and specifications and achieve industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external partners to bring products from concept to manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and mitigate EMI/EMC issues with power electronics circuits.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product feasibility, manufacturability, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Power Electronics or related field; PhD preferred.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in R&D management within the power electronics domain.
  • Extensive experience in product development and lifecycle management.
